How to use this data

Look up the backbone of your current provider. If you want a second account as a backup, pick a brand from a different family. With two brands from the same family, you pay twice for one set of files.

Sources and method

The mappings come from provider documentation, the NNTP hostnames customers receive, and community backbone maps built on ASN data and article availability. Retention and connections are the figures each provider publishes. Brands that are not in our comparison table get the retention figure of their family. How we rank.
