About 4usenet
Privacy notice
What 4usenet.com and 4usenet.nl record when you visit, why we record it, how long it is kept, and how you can ask us to show you or delete it.
This notice covers 4usenet.com and 4usenet.nl. There are no user accounts, newsletters or comment forms on either site, so we hold very little about you. Everything we do hold is listed below.

Analytics
Both sites use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people read. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and processes your IP address to estimate where you are, and Google acts as our processor for this. We only look at the reports in aggregate. You can block Google Analytics with your browser's tracking protection or with Google's opt-out add-on, and the site will keep working as normal.
Affiliate click log
When you follow a /go/ link to a provider, we record the offer you clicked, the time, your browser's user-agent string, the page you came from, the country your connection reports (if our hosting supplies it) and a salted one-way hash of your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored. We keep this log to count clicks per offer and to spot abuse, and our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the site. Once you land on the provider's site, its own privacy policy applies.
Theme preference
If you switch to dark mode, your browser saves that choice in local storage under the key 4u-theme. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.
Server logs
To run and protect the service, our hosting provider keeps standard web server and security logs: IP address, time, the page requested and user-agent. These logs are kept for the hosting provider's standard retention period.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and you can object to processing that is based on legitimate interest. The click log only stores a hash of your IP address, so to find your entry we may need the rough time of the click and the offer you clicked. Send your request to deals@4usenet.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority, which in the Netherlands is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Changes
We update this notice whenever what we record changes, and the date at the top shows when that last happened.
